Safe T First

Safe T First (STF) is an optional service provided by the NFADA to member dealers.  The NFADA works closely with regulatory agencies such as OSHA and the DEC to become familiar and stay up-to-date on safety, health, and regulatory requirements that are imposed upon our member dealers.

As a participant in the Safe T First program your dealership will receive two (2) Safe T First Audits per year.  The first being a safety walk through/inspection of the entire dealership.  The auditor will look for safety & health violations such as electrical issues, chemical storage, and equipment and surface conditions, just to name of few.  Once the audit is complete, a meeting between the auditor and the designated Safe T First Supervisor will take place to review the findings and suggested solutions to any violations.

The second audit is the Safe T First Program Audit.  This audit requires a sit down conference with the dealerships designated Safe T First Supervisor to review written programs required by OSHA and any necessary record keeping issues such as Oil Storage Tank documentation, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as well as any required employee safety, health and equipment training.

As a STF dealership, your questions regarding these and other regulatory issues are a quick phone call away.

Being an active participant in the NFADA's Safe T First program gives you a leading edge on keeping up to date on regulatory requirements and will save you thousands of dollars in fines related to violations that you may not be aware of if you do not participate in the STF program.
