8/7/15 ATTENTION PARTS MANAGERS:

Are you aware of requirements imposed by the FAA on shipment of hazardous materials by air?

Did you know that the transporters such as FedEx are required to notify the FAA if they suspect improperly labeled shipments of hazardous materials are being air freighted?

Are you up to date on your DOT HAZMAT training?

Have your Parts Department employees received awareness training in recognizing hazardous materials as they arrive in your shop?

If you cannot answer in the affirmative to these questions, it's time to brush up on the rules and regulations regarding hazardous materials transport.

2/26/15 HAZARD COMMUNICATION STANDARD DEADLINES RAPIDLY APPROACHING

Recent updates to the federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard are bringing the US into alignment with the system used throughout the world to further enhance worker protection from hazards posed by working with chemicals.  The new standard is referred to as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), and is intended to bring workers past the "Right to Know" about the products they work with to the "Right to Understand" the dangers of working with chemicals.
